Seven years ago, my husband and I found ourselves in desperate need of a place to call home. We had been living in Dover, NH for a few years, but when my father was diagnosed with multiple terminal illnesses, we packed up and temporarily moved in with my parents, two hours east, to help them prepare to sell their lifelong home.
At the same time, I was pregnant with our first child, and they were getting close to closing on their sale. We needed to find our own place, and fast. All that moving had meant changing jobs for me, so to say I had a lot on my mind during that time would be a major understatement. The idea of entering the real estate market for the first time felt overwhelming.
What made all the difference was finding the right realtor. I’m not even sure how we stumbled across her name, probably just a basic Google search for realtors in Concord. But it only took one meeting with her to feel completely at ease. Our schedule was a nightmare due to long commutes, but she was so flexible and accommodating. It truly felt like she was our advocate, and when it was all over, I was thoroughly inspired.
I remember turning to my husband and saying, “I want to do that for someone one day.”
It took some time to make that dream a reality, but today I’m so excited to be in a position to help others find a place that feels like home. A place that can be a safe haven and a source of peace, even when life feels chaotic.
We purchased our home in the middle of one of the most challenging seasons of our lives, and that home became a refuge.
No matter what season of life you’re in, purchasing a home can change everything.
Let’s find you a home together.
